Course Objectives

  • To know about the structural organisation and  functioning of various organs and their inter relationship.
  • To understand about  the various metabolic processes and and their inter relationship with organ systems.

Course Outcomes

  • Students would be able to know and compare the different anatomical aspect of various organisms.
  • Students will acquire the knowledge of functioning of different body parts.
  • The students can apply the acquired knowledge for higher study

Module- I 

Physiology of Digestion:

1.1- Structural organization of gastrointestinal tract and associated glands

1.2 -Mechanical and chemical digestion of food

1.3 -Absorptions of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, water, minerals and vitamins

1.4- Hormonal control of secretion of enzymes in Gastrointestinal tract

       Practice-1- Histological study of gastrointestinal tract

      Assignment-1: a)Structure of associated organs; b)Secretory enzymes involved in digestion; c) Hormones secreted for digestion

Physiology of Respiration:

2.1-Mechanism of respiration & Pulmonary ventilation

2.2-Respiratory volumes and capacities

2.3-Transport of oxygen and carbon dioxide in blood

2.4-Respiratory pigments and Control of respiration

2.5-Dissociation curves and the factors influencing it
