Course Objectives

1. Familiarization with the work environment and challenges for HMI/SCADA technician
2. Familiarization to HMI/SCADA accessories
3. Develop an end-to-end technical understanding to execute HMI/SCADA in industry
4. Complying to the industry specifications, guidelines and safety standards during work

Learning Outcomes

1. Identify the role and responsibilities of HMI SCADA Technician
2. Implement the knowledge of the detailing in customer requirement
3. Concept about installation and commissioning
4. Concept on FAT and Documentation
5. Comply with the safety procedures and standards to be followed while working
6. Prioritizing activities and organizing resources to meet desired outcome

Course Syllabus

Module 1:
Detailing the HMI/SCADA system functional requirement

- Big picture of HMI/SCADA
- Job role and responsibilities
-Introduction to HMI/SCADA(basics)
-Identify the tag as per the requirement
- Familiarization to the software
-Identify the operating system to install SCADA system on PC/Laptop

Module 2:
Testing the HMI/SCADA accessories

- Power supply unit
- Communication cables and its type
- Testing panel wire continuity test
- Testing of the communication cable
- Testing of the power supply unit for HMI/SCADA

Module 3:
Testing HMI hardware using HMI programming software

- Developing of screen
- Creating of tag
- Tagging in HMI
- Establish communication between programming software and HMI using appropriate protocol and cable
- Create a HMI Test project with communication objects on HMI screens
- Perform tests by controlling and monitoring PLC data on HMI
screens

Module 4:
Testing SCADA system using SCADA software

- Developing of screen
- Creating of tag
- Tagging in HMI
- Prepare test screens on HMI project with basic objects
- Activate inputs and outputs from PLC programming software and
monitor the status on HMI project screens

Module 5:
Complete Factory Acceptance Test (FAT)

- Creating of report
- Testing of screen object according to the tagging
- Prepare a report for HMI hardware or SCADA system testing
- Perform HMI/SCADA testing along with customer and explain him the details

Module 6:
HMI/SCADA testing with actual field devices

- Field devices
- Activating the I/O manual and auto cycle
- Perform input test between field devices and HMI/SCADA screens by activating field sensors
- Activate the field outputs using HMI/SCADA objects
