Course Objectives

  1. The knowledge, understanding required of an individual to supervise the service, maintenance, and repair operation through the technician and components/aggregate specialist.
  2. Organize the service & repair department through controlling manpower resources and other assets and tools at a level commensurate with workshop requirements.
  3. Supervise all activities performed by subordinates and reporting executive and evaluate their performance.
  4. Ensuring and implement strict adherence of all activities performed by subordinates to the organisational guideline.
  5. Work requirements including various activities, deliverables, or work output required in the given time, maintain set quality standards.
  6. Appropriate use of resources (both material/equipment and manpower).
  7. Interact & communicate effectively with colleagues including members in the own group as well as other groups.

Learning Outcomes

  1. The supervisor will be able to perform methodological and systematic in his way of working to supervise the working of the Technicians and Specialists and ensure adherence to systems and processes.
  2. Various aspects of retro -fitments to be specified batch of vehicles as indicate by the workshop manager and get the retro-fitment kits fitted through technicians as per the OEM guidelines.
  3. Able to interact with the organization’s internal stakeholders to ensure efficient performance evolution of the subordinate leading to a higher level of satisfaction and motivation.
  4. Resources (both material & manpower) needed to maintain a safe working environment as per the prevalent norms & government policies including emergency procedures for Illness, accidents, fires, or any other reason which may involve evacuation of the premises.

Course Syllabus

Module 1:
1.  Job role explanation with respect to the industrial exposer.
2.    Introduction.
3.Importance of organizational guideline context.
Module 2: Supervise Service & Repair Operations.
  1. Allocate technician/component specialist as per the requirement of the service, maintenance and repair to be done on the OEM vehicle.
  2. Manage day to day troubleshooting of various components and coordinate with technical specialists to ensure that appropriate action is taken on the root cause of the issue.
  • Ensuring of complaints, service, and repair requirements by the customer are resolved within time & cost expectations.
  1. Ensuring proper procurement of unavailable Spare Parts from the retail counter in the open market in the most cost-effective manner.
PRACTICE - Organize the service and repair operations managing the technicians and tools/equipment.

Module 3: Supervise and evaluate performance.
  1. Setting of goals and targets as per organizational directives for all reporting executives.
  2. Performance to all appraisal-related process flow for subordinates, as per respective performance documents.
  • Handover process of all the documents and appropriate support measures to the human resources department for official records.
Practice: - Supervise & evaluate the performance of all subordinates and reporting executives.

Plan and organize work to meet expected outcomes.
  1. Treating confidential information as per the organization’s guidelines.
  2. Work in line with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Management of time, materials, and cost-effectively.
Practice: - Work requirements including various activities within the given time and set quality standards.

PRACTICE: - How to complete tasks accurately by following standard procedures.
Project –Phase 3 (3HRS).
Perform a task over a customer vehicle (Full interval service maintenance) within a given period of the time with resources available.
Module 5: Work effectively in a team.
  1. Work with colleagues to integrate work.
  2. Pass on information to colleagues in line with organizational requirements both through verbal as well as non – verbal.
  • Identify problems in working with colleagues and take the initiative to solve these problems.

Motivate and give more emphasis towards work productivity to the mechanics and other aggregate specialists before engaging in their work on a daily basis.
Module 6: Maintain a healthy, safe, and secure working environment.
  1. Comply with the organization’s current health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  2. Report any identified breaches in health, safety, and security policies and procedures to the designated person.
  • Follow the organization’s emergency procedures for accidents, fires, or any other natural calamity.
Practice: - Resources needed to maintain a safe, secure working environment.
Practice: - Legislative requirements and organization’s procedures for health, safety and security and individual’s role and responsibilities in relation to this.
