Dr. Raghu Gogada

Dr. Raghu Gogada had completed his B.Sc. in Biochemistry (2001) from Silver Jubilee Govt. Degree College, Kurnool, SKD University, Anantapur and M.Sc. in EnvironmentalBiotechnology (2004) from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), and pursued his dissertation from Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB), Hyderabad, INDIA and study focused on “Investigations on the biochemical and genetic basis of cold adaptation of an Antarctic bacterium Pseudomonas fluorescens (10 CW)”. Dr. Gogada received his PGDIPR (2007) from Department of Law and Ph.D. in Biochemistry (May 2005- June 2010 - Membrane Biology) from Department of Biochemistry, Osmania University, Hyderabad, INDIA where he investigated “Characterization of cobalt transporter genes from bacteria” in collaboration with Bhabha Atomic Research Center (BARC), Mumbai, INDIA and University of Lyon, FRANCE. Dr. Gogada worked as a Post-Doc (July 2010 to June 2013), under the supervision of Dr. Dhyan Chandra, at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI), Buffalo, NY, USA, where he initiated the study on “Phytochemical role on Apoptosis Cell Signaling and Autophagy on Cancer”. Dr. Gogada started his career as an DST-INSPIRE-Faculty (Equivalent to IIT Assistant Professor) from February 2013 to January 2018, at Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad (T.S), INDIA and the study mainly focused on “Characterization of various metal (i.e. high affinity cobalt transporter genes from Synechocystis sp. PCC6803), drug transporters and binding proteins from prokaryote to eukaryotes”. During his stay at UOH, Dr. Gogada used to involved in the teaching (2013-2015) Molecular Biology (Theory & Practical’s) to Systems Biology Integrated Master students (2nd Year) at Center/College for Integrated Studies (CIS), and Analytical Chemistry (Radiation Biology) and Molecular Biology (Practical’s) to M.Sc. & Integrated M.Sc.-PhD students (1st year) and mentored students for their master’s (M. Tech) dissertation and Integrated M.Sc.-PhD student’s lab rotation activities. As a part of INSPIRE Faculty, he also worked as a Research Visiting Scientist/Fellow (October 2015 to March 2016), at Chemical Genomics Centre of Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Physiology, Dortmund, GERMANY, and study mainly focused on “Regulation and Mechanism of Membrane Trafficking during autophagy” and Research Visiting Post-Doc/Fellow with The HJF of Military Medicine (July 2016 to Jul 2017), at Department of Biochemistry, Uniformed Service University of Health Sciences (USUHS), Bethesda, Maryland, USA, and study mainly focused on “Molecular Mechanisms of homologous recombination during gametogenesis”. Specifically, his goal was to elucidate “The mechanism of the differential role of RAD51 and DMC1 proteins in recombination”, respectively. At present, Dr. Gogada have been working as an Associate Professor (January, 2018 to till date) and Head (August 2018 to till date) in the Department of Biochemistry and Plant Physiology, MSSSoA, CUTM, Odisha, INDIA. His teaching activities include in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, IPR to under graduates (UG) and post graduate (PG) students.Presently, he is guiding two PhD students. He was recipient of several national and international awards and published 11 international web of science papers in the area of biochemistry, biotechnology and cancer biology, having citations: 436, H-index: 9.
