Introduction: Introduction to the Course: Clinical Cardiac Care Technology Introduction to the Course: Clinical Cardiac Care Technology Clinical Cardiac Care Technology is an important branch of allied health sciences that focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, monitoring, and management of cardiovascular conditions. The course introduces students to the fundamentals of cardiac anatomy, physiology, cardiac disorders, diagnostic procedures, and advanced technologies used in cardiac care. It emphasizes the role of cardiac care technologists in supporting clinical teams through accurate cardiac investigations, patient monitoring, and assisting in various cardiac procedures. This field combines medical knowledge with technological skills to provide effective and quality care for patients with heart-related conditions. |
Course Objective: Course Objectives: Clinical Cardiac Care Technology (Based on Bloom’s Taxonomy) 1. Recall the basic concepts of cardiac anatomy and physiology. 2. Identify common cardiovascular diseases and cardiac diagnostic procedures. 3. Recognize various cardiac care equipment and technologies. 4. Explain the normal functioning of the cardiovascular system. 5. Describe the principles of cardiac investigations and monitoring techniques. 6. Understand the role of cardiac care technologists in clinical practice. 7. Perform ECG recording and basic cardiac monitoring procedures. 8. Apply knowledge of cardiac care techniques in patient management. 9. Demonstrate safe handling and operation of cardiac equipment. 10. Analyze ECG patterns and identify common cardiac abnormalities. 11. Interpret cardiac investigation findings based on clinical information. 12. Differentiate various cardiac disorders and their management approaches. 13. Evaluate cardiac test results for effective clinical decision-making. 14. Assess patient conditions requiring cardiac monitoring and intervention. 15. Evaluate the effectiveness of cardiac care procedures. 16. Develop effective strategies for cardiac patient care and monitoring. 17. Integrate theoretical knowledge with clinical skills in cardiac care practice. 18. Design approaches for improving quality and safety in cardiovascular healthcare. |
Course Outcomes: Clinical Cardiac Care Technology After completion of the course students will be able to: CO1: Recall the basic concepts of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and cardiovascular disorders. CO2: Explain the principles of cardiac investigations, monitoring techniques, and cardiac care procedures. CO3: Apply clinical skills to perform cardiac diagnostic procedures and patient monitoring. CO4: Analyze ECG findings and cardiac data to identify abnormalities. CO5: Evaluate cardiac conditions and diagnostic results for effective patient management. CO6: Develop appropriate approaches for safe and efficient cardiac care practices. |
