Course Objectives:

Patient Evaluation and Optimization: Developing the ability to assess a patient's medical history, identify potential anesthetic risks associated with various medical disorders, and optimize their condition for surgery.

Advanced Airway Management: Proficiency in managing challenging airways, including the use of specialized equipment and techniques for patients with respiratory or other airway-related issues.

Intraoperative Management:  Understanding how to monitor vital signs, adjust anesthetic depth, and manage fluid and electrolyte balance during surgery, while considering the patient's specific medical conditions.

Pain Management: Mastering both acute and chronic pain management strategies, including the use of various analgesics and regional anesthetic techniques, while accounting for potential drug interactions and side effects.

Critical Care Management:  Gaining expertise in managing critically ill patients in the perioperative period, including those with cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, or other systemic issues.

Postoperative Care: Understanding the principles of postoperative pain management, respiratory support, and the prevention and treatment of potential complications related to the patient's medical conditions.

Course Outcome:

CO1 : A thorough understanding of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of anesthetic drugs, particularly in the context of various medical disorders.

CO2 : Research Methodology and Critical Appraisal:
Developing the ability to critically evaluate research findings and apply them to clinical practice, as well as the ability to conduct research in the field of anesthesia.

CO3 :Professionalism and Ethical Practice:
Adhering to ethical principles in all aspects of anesthetic practice, including patient communication, informed consent, and the responsible use of resources.

CO4: Teamwork and Communication:
Effectively communicating with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
