Course Name: Concrete Paver Manufacturing

Course Objectives:

  1. To provide a comprehensive understanding of the concrete paver manufacturing process, including design, production techniques, and quality control measures.

Course Syllabus

Module I: Introduction to Concrete Pavers

Overview of the concrete paver industry, Types and applications of concrete pavers, Market trends and demands, Surface texturing techniques, Composition and properties of concrete.

Practice: Physical properties aggregates.

List of Experiments:

  1. Determination of Los Angeles abrasion of aggregate.
  2. Determination of crushing strength value of aggregate.
  3. Determination of aggregate impact value.
  4. Determination of water absorption and bulk density of aggregate.

Module II: Design and Manufacturing of Concrete for Paver

Reinforcement methods for concrete pavers, Load-bearing capacities and structural design, Overview of the manufacturing process, Batch plant operations, Mixing, molding, and curing techniques.

Practice: Workability and strength

List of Experiments:

  1. Determination of workability of concrete by slump cone method.
  2. Determination of compressive strength.
  3. Determination of tensile splitting strength.
  4. Determination of flexural strength.

Module III: Quality Control and Environmental Considerations

Importance of quality control in manufacturing, inspecting finished pavers for defects, environmental regulations and sustainability practices, waste management and recycling options.

  2. Determination of dimensional Accuracy Test
  3. Determination of Freeze-Thaw resistance.
  4. Determine the non-destructive testing of paver block.
