Course Objectives

1. To pursue the knowledge as a developing country to implement and improve the undesirable human tasks with the help of Drones (UAV).
2. To understand the future and present growing technology on UVA and drones in various technical fields.
3. Complying to the industry specifications, guidelines and safety standards during work
4. Technical Perspective of Drone in India, Technical Aspects of Drone , Experience of Drone Deployment In India.
5. To familiar them with some new electronic equipment and programmable device which will not only help them in Quadcopter but in also upcoming innovation.
6. To be a Drone Pilot.

Learning Outcomes

1. Explain & apply knowledge of Power systems viz. Electric motors, Batteries,
Chargers, Connectors etc. in drone flying.
2. Identify& select various Controllers like Electronic Speed Controllers (ESC),
Transmitters, Receivers & flight Controllers for Drones.
3. Do & Don’ts Regarding Operation of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS)/ Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS), commonlyknown as drones/ UAV.
4. Identify basic operating features of a drone flight simulator and fly a Drone in
simulator training & live training for various applications first with instructor &
then solo.

Course Syllabus

Module 1:
Introduction to UAV/RPAS Drone (3hrs)

Overview and applications learning of health sector first aid, firefighting and various safety practices for
working in an industrial environment. Recognizes DGCA Safety Regulations & develop safety
attitude while flying Drones. Identifies & selects different types of Drones & Fundamentals
of Flight.

Practice-Demonstration of real time flying at ground operations (With Some Pictures And Videos)

Module 2:
Understanding and Assembling Drone(3hrs)

Do & Don’ts Regarding Operation Of RPAS
Knowledge of Airframes, Electric motors &Propellers, Identification& selection of Electronic Speed Controllers (ESC) & flight Controllers for Drones. Application of GPS Module other sensors and modes, Batteries, Beeper/Indicator, Chargers &Connectors, Transmitters & Receiver, Camera, Gimbal & other payloads. Overview of Ground Control Stations.

Practice- Demonstration and uses of different parts of drone.

Practice- Identification of Propeller and BLDC motor rotation.
Practice- Demonstration of Balance Charger and its modes.
Practice- Blend transmitter and receiver.
Practice- Identification of transmitter and receiver channels.
Practice- To discuss about the FC connecting points(T, E, R, A, X1-2-3, L.E.D, M1-2-3-4-5-6, etc.)
Practice- Battery(LiPo) care of Drone.
Practice- Check Drone and Transmitter Battery Voltage.
Practice- Perform Assembling of Drone.

Module 3:
Introduction to Weather, Selection of Site, Transmitter and Flying Commands With Simulator (3hr)

Standard atmosphere for flying, Moisture &cloud
Practice- Measuring wind speed, Gusty Speed, Heat and temperature
Practice- Transmitter Commands & Flying Commands (Like :Arming, Disarm, Throttle, Elevation, Rudder, Yaw, Pitch, Climb, Roll, Aileron, Take Off, Landing, Hover, etc.)
Practice- Demo Site Surveillance and observation for real time flying.

Module 4:
Flying With Co-Pilot (3 hrs)

Practice-Role of Co-Pilot
Practice-Perform flying and complete the operation in real time at field
Practice- Co-Pilot and Ground Station Commands

Module 5:
Flying Simulation {Simulator}(10hrs)

Practice-Basic operating features of flying in simulation
Practice-Pre-flight checks and start-up Preparation cum coordination for flight{In Simulator}.
Practice- Approach and landing, After flight checks{In Simulator}

Module 6:
Performing the ManoeuvreIn Simulation (5 hrs)

Practice-
1 Take Off
2 Forward Flight Lap
3 Reverse Flight Lap
4 Square Lap
5 Circular Hover(Forward Facing)
6 Circular Hover(Reverse Facing)
7 Circuit
8 10 Feet Altitude Hold
9 Hover
10 Landing

Module 7:
On Field Flying With Instructor (20hrs)

Fly in real time and following the commands of Instructor

Practice- Site Surveillance and observation for real time flying.
Practice- Transmitter and flying commands.
Practice-Pre-flight checks and start-up Preparation cum coordination for flight.
Practice- Approach and landing, After flight checks.
Practice-Hovering at three pointer
Practice- Reverse Hovering at three pointer

Module 8:
Perform manures Field Flying with Instructor (5 hrs)

Practice-Perform flying and complete the manoeuversas operation at field with Co-pilot.
Practice- Co-Pilot and Ground Station Commands

Module 9:
Perform Field Flying (Test) (8hrs)

Perform the manoeuvers
