Course Objectives


  • -To induct functional knowledge in students about principles & Techniques of various electrical harness.
    -To familiarize the students about the fundamental laws that governs the operation of electricity.
    -To introduce the students about the constraints associated with earthing & wiring system.

    • Service/Maintenance engineer for electrical routing & control system in Reputed Companies

    • As Wiring Designer of Electrical Motors & harnessing engineer in industry

    • Contractor for residential, commecial and industrial wiring

    • Electrical appliance repair & maintenance engineer in manufacturing sector

    • Indian Railway (Asst. Driver, Tech. Gr. III,)

    • Local Electricity DISCOMs & TRANSCOs

     

Course Syllabus: List of Experiments


Section: 1 [Electrical Safety & Audit]
1. Visit various sections of the institute and location of electrical
installations.
2. Identify safety symbols and hazards.
3. Practice safe methods of fire fighting in case of electrical fire.
4. Use of fire extinguishers.
5. Use of personal protective equipments.

Section: 2 [Electrical Cable Joints & Harnessing]
1. Prepare hand coil winding assembly.
2. Practice on preparing T-joint, straight joint and dovetail joint on
wooden blocks
3. Workshop practice on drilling, chipping, internal and external
threading of different sizes.
6. Crimping lugs & Prepare terminations of cable ends
7. Practice on skinning, twisting and crimping.
8. Identify various types of cables and measure conductor size using SWG
and micrometer.
9. Make simple twist, married, Tee and western union joints. .
10. Practice in Soldering of joints / lugs.
11. Identify various parts, skinning and dressing of underground cable.

Section: 3 [Harnessing Application]
12. Test insulation resistance of underground cable using megger.
13. Electrical Routing
14. Grounding / Earthing
15. Applications: Power Sector, Electronics, Automotive & apparel with
cases.

Swakantik Mishra is serving as a faculty in Electrical & Electronics Department, He is having 10+ years of experences in Power/Energy Industry & Education sector. He holds a master’s & bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, He is also a management graduate in Operations & HR area.
