Course Objectives

  • To have an overall idea about Laser and its applications in industry.
  • To understand the necessity of gamification
  • To get hands on experience by developing small laser instruments for various purposes.

Learning Outcomes

After learning the course the students will

  • gather awareness about applications of laser in industry, medicine and entertainment.
  • get hands on experience of making instruments for laser applications

Course Syllabus

Module I

Introduction to Laser, types of lasers, Solid State laser, gas laser, liquid laser and semiconductor laser (overall idea only)

Practice: Learning through workshop mode.

Module II

Laser applications – Industrial applications, medical applications, entertainment applications

Module III

Laser safety and precautions

Practice: To be taught in workshop mode.

Module IV

Products, competence and meaning in the practices of DIY, Essentials needed for laser DIY kits

Practice: Make DIY Digital Laser Tape

Module V

Games. Game Design. Gamification, Why are games and gamification so engaging

Practice: Make a Laser light

 Module VI

The different types of Gamification , Defining gamified experiences: Things to know before we start
